Supportive Housing for Pregnant Students in Gainesville, Florida: Two Rooms Available

Two Rooms Available at Gianna’s Place

Supportive Housing for Pregnant Students in Gainesville, Florida

Available Now

Gianna’s Place currently has two rooms available for qualified pregnant students enrolled in an educational program in Gainesville or Alachua County.

We are actively seeking two motivated, committed students who want to stay in school, complete their degree or certification, and build a stable future for themselves and their child.

If you are a referral partner, campus advisor, counselor, healthcare provider, or community organization serving pregnant students, we invite you to share this opportunity.

Our Mission

Gianna’s Place exists for one purpose:
To ensure that pregnancy does not end a young woman’s education.

We serve pregnant students who are enrolled in college, technical school, or a vocational training program in Gainesville, Florida or surrounding areas. Our residents are women who want to remain in school, graduate, and create long-term stability for their families.

We are not an emergency shelter.
We are a structured, supportive home focused on educational success.

What We Provide

Residents at Gianna’s Place receive:

  • Free housing
  • Meals provided
  • A safe, stable, home environment
  • Mentorship and accountability
  • Support in maintaining enrollment
  • Encouragement to graduate and transition successfully

By removing the financial burden of rent and food, students are able to redirect their limited income toward:

  • Tuition and books
  • Transportation
  • Healthcare expenses
  • Childcare planning
  • Savings for post-graduation stability

Housing instability is one of the primary reasons pregnant students withdraw from school. By stabilizing this foundation, we significantly increase the likelihood of graduation.

Who We Are Looking For

We are seeking two qualified pregnant students who:

  • Are currently enrolled in an educational program (college, university, technical school, or vocational training)
  • Intend to remain enrolled through pregnancy
  • Are motivated to graduate
  • Are willing to live in a structured, supportive home environment
  • Are open to mentorship and accountability

Our ideal resident is not perfect. She does not need to have everything figured out. But she must be committed to continuing her education and working toward independence.

Why This Matters

In Gainesville, Florida, rent continues to rise. Many students live paycheck to paycheck. When pregnancy is added to the equation, the financial strain can become overwhelming.

Too often, we see students forced to choose between:

  • Paying rent or paying tuition
  • Staying enrolled or finding full-time work
  • Safe housing or unstable arrangements

Gianna’s Place exists so that no student has to choose between her education and her baby.

When housing and meals are stable, something shifts.
Stress decreases.
Attendance improves.
Grades stabilize.
Hope returns.

We are committed to walking alongside residents not only through pregnancy, but through graduation.
